Origin of Ants

I believe the folktale "The Origin of Ants" is about how people lose focus in what is important and therefore come up with excuses to avoid trouble. The man in this story had to lie about his "special" ability in order for his wife to not hate him but as the word spread his little lie became known around the whole town. He got lucky when showing people how his smelling ability worked but in the end he was turned into hundreds of ants in place of himself.
I think the moral is that you should always be honest or else you may have to lie to everyone round you and have to struggle with ways to prove your lie, which is usually unsuccessful.
I did not like this folktale because the man should have been caught after trying to prove his lie to the prince but he got lucky every time he was showing his skill to different people. His final punishment was to become a god in the eyes of the people but in reality he was turned into tiny annoying ants that come and take whatever they can find.
