Who are you?
1. A book that left a lasting impression on me and made me think about my country's and the world´s past the most is Uncle Tom's Cabin because it is about slavery in America. The important thing that really made me realize how wrong slavery was, was how the story is told from the view of multiple slaves. It shows how white people did not treat them the way they deserved to be treated, even if they had a good owner there was always a chance they would be sold to a new home. Uncle Tom's Cabin represented to me how America has not always been this equality between all races, even though in many ways there are still inequalities that consume many people's everyday lives. Although it is clear society will never be perfect, this is a good book to always relate back to how bad things used to be, and how we as a society always to work towards a better future and not revert back to the past.
2. Who am I? I am a senior at the Webb School, a school which I have attended since sixth grade and has helped me find many friends and faculty who have supported me through my highschool career. I am a middle child of three kids and I live in the small town Shelbyville, TN. I do not have many hobbies other than riding horses and hanging out with my friends, even though that is not exactly a hobby. While I have never done any impressive things to remember in my life, I am still thankful for how such small things have helped show me where I am going. Due to my exposure to a variety of animals I have decided to be a veterinarian and plan to begin college like many of my friends right after highschool. I just hope my life leads me in to a happy, joyful future.

I think Uncle Tom's Cabin is a really good novel, too. It has left such an impact on American society and has changed/awakened the opinions and perspectives of so many people. (Thankfully) Hanging out with friends and riding horses are definitely hobbies. I think people shouldn't have to many because then it is hard to be good at any one thing. That's so cool that yours has brought you to your goal of being a veterinarian. I really love animals, too!
